A quick tip: On your website do you know if your email address(es) are encrypted or not? If not, it (or they) will be harvested by ‘Spam-bots’. If this is not fixed asap you’ll find you’ll be getting masses of spam emails sent to that (or those) email addresses over the coming years (if not already).

If you are not sure, contact us and we will check. It is easy to check. We don’t even need to login to your website. We simply check the ‘source code’.

As we all know, email is soo very important in business. We also know that time is money. If you’re spending time deleting spam emails and getting frustrated with the amount of spam you are getting, this is a major time-suck and annoyance (to say the least). PLUS this could be VERY costly if a spam email results in a virus being installed on your computer, a network and/or your entire workplace!…

Last thing you want is to attract spam emails that could be carrying a ‘payload’ that could result in a virus or WORSE (eg. ransomware attacks). As you would know, spoof emails pretending to be your bank or some other provider are also rife!
We’ve all heard the stories of a virus corrupting entire businesses as well (via their networks). It just takes one email to infect one computer and if that virus is designed to spread through a network, it will!

How did they get your email address? OFTEN they used ‘spam-bots’ to crawl through websites, to find and harvest non-encrypted email addresses. This is not new btw — it has been happening for a LONG while.

In fact, we’ve been encrypting email addresses on client websites since before 2004, for these VERY reasons! We all know that prevention is better than ‘hindsight’!

Our point: The less spam email you get, the fewer chances of any of this happening to you, or your business, or your workplace!
For YEARS we have helped clients who have had their websites created by someone else (before they heard about us) sort out this issue on their website(s) (AND many other issues!)

Here is what to do if your website is built using WordPress:

  1. Contact us and we’ll check your website to see if the email address(es) on it are encrypted or not. OR you can use this online tool
  2. OR ask your current website creator (the person or team who looks after your website) to install, configure and test this plugin: Email Address Encoder
  3. OR ask us to install that Plugin on your website.
