Case Study: Regenerative Farm Business Website – Shingle Hut Creek Farm
The Brief
Shingle Hut Creek Farm had seen the work we had done for another client. They liked our work, so contacted us in 2021. Their regenerative cattle farm business located south of Gatton was relatively new at that time. They needed a quality logo and a new website. Amongst things they requested that the website look modern and appealing but not over-the-top. Plus it needed to provide a way for website visitors to sign up to their mailing list.
They also needed to work with a team that are Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and digital marketing business growth experts.
The owners of Shingle Hut Creek Farm did not have a lot of experience with online marketing, websites, etc, so they needed to work with a team who would guide, teach and be supportive & patient with them.
Additionally they were seeking to work with a business who could also:
- Provide them some guidance about using YouTube
- They needed a simple short video created showing aspects of their farm
- Design print and signage materials for them as needed
- Help them ‘blog for business‘
- Help them grow their business
Our Solution
After initial discussions we agreed on a ‘stage 1’ approach. This involved:
- Designing their logo
- Setting up their website hosting, Domain Name and email
- Creating their website
- Website content writing guidance
- ‘Blogging for business’ tutoring and guidance
- YouTube assistance
- A simple video
- Teaching the basics of MailChimp
Shingle Hut Creek Farm needed their logo to include the mountain located near their farm, the creek and the sun.
We set to work designing their logo. It is modern but rural and includes the mountains, the creek and the sun. Amongst things it will make for an attractive ‘farm-gate’ sign (potentially made from steel or timber).
Once the logo job was completed, we created a custom designed website. It was exactly what the owners of Shingle Hut Creek Farm wanted. It is easy to navigate, inviting, easy to read and informative. It also has a blogging platform and mailing list sign-up system built into it, along with other features.
After that we created the simple short video. Then we provided tutoring for:
- The website and MailChimp
- ‘Blogging for business’
- YouTube
We also provided all other requested services and support.
As per all the websites we create, it is very easy for the owners and requested team members of Shingle Hut Creek Farm to login to the website and update content, post blogs, etc.

No voice-over narration, sub-titles, video effects, colour-grading (video colour tweaks) or any other production values were requested for this video.
To ensure there were no music copyright issues flagged by YouTube [watch this video to learn more], we chose music from the YouTube Audio Library. This also saved the client money.

We attended the 3 day workshop by Joel Salatin in Gatton back in 2013, to ensure we had a reasonable foundational knowledge of Regenerative Agriculture and Farming, so we could better serve farm clients who utilise Regenerative Farming methods.

“We are new to using the internet to promote our farm and really didn’t know a lot about what was involved. Jay walked us through it step by step.
