A strategic, quality growth roadmap that involves using current digital marketing methods is an incredibly effective starting point towards helping more potential customers learn that your business exists. A well-crafted growth roadmap is a powerful tool for any business (or other entity type). It serves as a clear guide that aligns teams, stakeholders, and resources around shared goals. By turning big-picture strategy into practical, prioritised actions, it helps drive consistent, sustainable growth over the shorter and longer term. Growth happens faster by using a Growth Roadmap, ONLY if it is assembled by experts.
One or more quality growth roadmaps can make all the difference in achieving your goals in the timeframes you want, vs sticking to only what you know, and finding growth is slow, or non-existent.
Growth Roadmaps require a high level of expertise and experience in business website strategy, digital marketing strategy, marketing strategy and business strategy.
How long is a Growth Roadmap for?
We typically write growth roadmaps for 3 to 6-month periods. This ensures it focuses on ONLY the jobs that need to be done in the foreseeable future, it avoids overwhelm and helps ensure the work gets done.
It keeps everyone accountable. Once completed, the next growth roadmap for the next period of time is assembled. This process should be continued until all the goals the business is aiming to achieve are achieved.
Flexibility: While providing direction, a good roadmap is adaptable, allowing for pivots as market conditions shift.
Reviewing the plan (frequently): If by chance you want a 12 month roadmap, it needs to be regularly reviewed and updated (at least quarterly) to ensure it maintains relevance, especially due to any possible market and/or economic shifts. Even a 6-month plan should be reviewed every few months.
PS. Growth Roadmaps written for a 12 month or 2 year period should be considered an ‘overview style’ roadmap only. They are a broad-strokes loose guide. They help see the bigger picture. However, they do not replace 3 or 6 month detailed growth roadmap.
Is it a type of contract?
No, it is not a contract.
Treating a growth roadmap as a contract or fixed promise is not a good idea. If a roadmap is seen as an unchangeable contract rather than a strategic guide, it can lead to burnout, technical debt, and loss of trust, especially if goals change.
What else do I need to know?
Vague or Unrealistic Goals: A roadmap that is too vague, or acts merely as a list of “features” (or jobs) rather than ALSO outcomes, will fail.
Best practices for an effective Roadmap include:
- Using a “Now, Next, Later” structure, instead of rigid timelines. This format allows for flexibility while communicating priority.
- Ensure every initiative in the roadmap supports a specific goal or key result.
- Clear expectations and understanding what things really cost: Ensure your expectations are realistic. Ask questions, educate yourself and be realistic.
- Prioritising activities: Focus on activities that will drive the growth needle fastest, provided they are achievable within your budget. If not, do the highest priority activities you can initially afford, then look at securing finance if you want to start doing the activities that will drive the most growth, the fastest. Be strategic.
Why would I need this, when I already have a sales team?
Sales and marketing are two very different skill-sets. Great sales people are great at sales. Great marketers are great at marketing. Great marketers who are also great holistic digital marketers are on a whole other level!
A salesperson is NOT a traditional marketing, digital marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), branding and website expert. They may have basic-level skills in some of these areas, but they are FAR from an expert with over 20 years of experience!
Can't I just hire a full-time Marketing Manager?
Have you checked what quality Marketing Managers expect and require as a yearly salary lately? They DO NOT come cheap!
A Marketing Manager who does not have expert SEO, website and digital marketing skills can assemble a strategy, but they don’t have the skills to execute it. You’ll still have to assemble a team of experts to do this actual implementation work.
Another option is to hire a 3rd party Fractional CMO (Chief Marketing Officer). They too though don’t often have the actual skills and experience to do the actual work.
Paying for your own in-house Marketing staff team gets expensive very quickly, vs hiring us to work for you on a monthly basis for a minimum of 6 or 12 months. We can get you FAR greater results for FAR LESS money!

The process starts with communication and conversation. The first conversation is obligation-free for up to 45 minutes.
We will also sign a non-disclosure agreement if you wish.
A deposit fee is then paid to us.
Share with us your 1 year, 2 year, 3 year, 5 year (and 10 year, if you want to) business growth goals.
We then begin to understand the ins and outs of your business (as much as is needed for us to be of greatest help); we ask questions, we do research, we seek information,… plus we also learn what marketing, advertising and networking you have found to be most beneficial in the past and what hasn’t been.
We then begin our auditing process, including your website(s). We ask to audit things like:
- Your marketing campaigns
- Advertising activities
- Referral source methods
- Networking strategies
- Lead generation methods
- Marketing collateral materials
- and anything else you have done in the last 2 – 3 years.

We then learn more about your needs, expectations and your goals (both short-term, mid-term and longer-term).
It is up to you to share as much or as little information with us as you want. Bear in mind, results may not be as lucrative for you, if you withhold too much information.
We then start investigating your competitors. We use software tools that are not cheap, but do provide us with a lot of insights.
We can gather information that someone not initiated with the technologies & software we use, is unable to.
We also look deeply at your ideal customer types. This provides us with fresh ideas, insights and a whole lot more!
This gets us to the point where we can assemble a highly effective growth roadmap.
Once this is assembled, we can be commissioned to implement the plan… via one of our bespoke holistic growth packages, which involve monthly fees.

What does a growth roadmap cost?
Growth Roadmaps start at $1,500+GST.
Repayment Plans are also available if needed. Repayment Plans are only for those who, for some reason, can not afford the $1,500+GST fee.
