In 2014 we were asked by the founders of Crossfit Bundaberg to create their new website. I had already been assisting with keeping their old site secure (including regular backups) and I was doing CrossFit at the time, so jumped head deep into designing their new website.

Our client wanted the new website to include:

  • Ability to publish and archive the workouts for each day
  • Promote their Facebook page
  • Include a blog
  • Ability to easily add videos
  • Contain information about all their services
  • Be a very attractive and appealing website
  • Link to the official CrossFit websites
  • Allow site visitors to subscribe to the newsletter
  • Be inviting
  • Be easily find-able in Google.com.au and Google Mobile for target keyword phrases and long-tails (definition is here)
  • Convey the right messages about the CrossFit Box
  • Assists with next stage growth

It did all this and more! It was soo much fun to create. We also assisted with organising a 3rd party Photographer. I also took photos for the site which were also used, including the big hero photo seen in the below home page screenshot.

CrossFit Bundaberg - home page

The home page I designed for the website in 2014.

The business was sold 12 months later. The website no longer exists online.

The website was built on the WordPress.org CMS (Content Management System) engine. You can actually see a slightly broken but functioning version of it on the ‘The Way Back Machine’ – click here to view it. If you are reading this article because you want a great CrossFit website built for your Box, we are more than happy to create something equally as good, and/or better for you.

Client Testimonial:

Below is a testimonial from the founder of CrossFit Bundaberg:

I have been working with Jay Daniells since early 2013. I was using the TwentyTen Theme for WordPress and it was getting well overdue for some extra elements to be added to help it along, but I had no support from the company that originally got me up and going. From my initial conversations with Jay, I could tell that he was genuinely interested in helping my business grow and he very quickly determined what I needed, which was a good thing based on my severe lack of internet savvy! Jay moved my site quickly and easily to a better and more secure hosting environment on his servers. He then added elements to the existing website, very cost effectively, that have encouraged additional enquiries from the site and promoted my social media channels. Jay also provided extra WordPress security for my website, got my email running properly again and is always on hand for tech support. He then provided me with a brand new website which he designed from scratch. This new site Jay has created is 1,000 times better than what I had! I couldn’t be happier with my choice of IT professional. Top shelf service and support at a very reasonable price…Jay’s got my vote!
