Thanks to fast high-speed internet connections, mobile internet networks (connectivity), the power of modern laptop computers and Zoom (& other modern communication tools), we find it very easy to operate as a mobile business.
When I say “mobile business” I mean we don’t have a physical singular office space where we meet everyday. We work remote.
Each of our senior team members have worked in full-time in-house office buildings in the past. We’ve paid our dues. These days, as a mobile team, we can handle any job or project remotely. We have each been working full-time in this industry for over 20 years.
It saves our client's money
Being a mobile business saves our clients money. It allows us to be FAR more flexible with our prices compared to if we had large overheads like a building/ office lease or building mortgage, as well as additional staff to run the whole operation.
This also means:
- We can offer partial-contra and in-kind sponsorship options to community events, community groups, organisations, local clubs and those trying to effect positive change [info about this is here]
- Weather most economic downturns (like COVID lockdowns) far more easily
- Help and be of use to a greater number of people
- As of 2021 we began offering website rental options and not just traditional website ownership.
We have never had any complaints
We’ve been operating Green Valley Digital as a mobile/remote business since 2015. It has worked well.
We have never had any complaints about this from any client’s. If anything, our client’s are very, very pleased that we respond to their emails quickly, work quickly for them, very much like the quality of our work and that we are always only an email or phone call away.
Location
Over 50% of our clients don’t live in close proximity to us. They are based 200+km’s away. Some are well over 900+km’s.
Our years of experience working remotely, combined with the processes we have in place, makes this very easy and convenient for our clients, no matter where they are located.
Video Calls & Zoom
Zoom is such an easy and effective tool to use. Even clients who have never used it before are up and running within 10mins.
Providing training and consulting is also very easy using the ‘screen sharing’ tool within Zoom. We can also easily record these training sessions and supply the video recordings to our clients.
We also use other video screen recording software like Camtasia Studio if we need to pre-record videos.
Formal Meetings
If there are ever times that any of our client’s want to meet in a formal setting, we can discuss options. Some of which include:
- Hiring a meeting room
- Meeting at their office
- Arranging a group call using Zoom (or similar tool).
It’s our privilege and honor being able to work for people, businesses, organisations, community groups, etc. Working remote works very well for us.
