Case Study: We Helped Find Potential Buyers for a Candle Business

In 2015 one of our clients asked us if we could help find potential buyers for his business. The client had listed the business for sale elsewhere but it had not yet sold. The business hand-made candles for churches, private schools, baptisms, weddings and more.

How We Found Potential Buyers

We received the brief and key information from our client. Amongst things the client did not want to advertise the business for sale on his actual business website.

We then reviewed the brief, put our thinking caps on (as always) and planned a campaign. We then proposed it to our client. We suggested an online advertising campaign. It involved creating the following assets and activities:

  • A landing page
  • Registering a Domain Name (to point the landing page to)
  • Digital assets including a PDF document containing key information to aid with doing due diligence. It could be downloaded from the landing page
  • We utilised Facebook targeted ads to find potential buyers

The client really liked the idea.

With the green-light from our client it didn’t take us long to build the landing page, the digital assets and start running targeted Facebook ads.

The Outcomes

We targeted a few areas within Queensland and NSW where we felt there would be a higher number of people per capita that would be interested in buying a candle making business. This included the Tweed Coast in NSW.

It was not long before our client started receiving enquiries from potential buyers. It took next to no time to find the right buyer.

Our client was very, very happy. He sold his business and retired.

The candle making business continues to this day.
